Countryside around Stroud in Gloucestershire

Areas we serve

Bowbridge Vets have been here for the pets and people of Stroud, Stonehouse and beyond since 1967.

Bowbridge Vets have two surgeries in the heart of Gloucestershire: one in Stroud and one in Stonehouse. Between them, they put independent veterinary care within easy reach of a wide area of the county, from the market towns of the Stroud Valleys to the villages and countryside that surround them.

We have been part of this community for almost 60 years. Many of the families who bring their pets to us today have been doing so since they were children. Even some of the staff came here as children and that kind of continuity matters to us. It shapes the way we work.

Stroud

Our Stroud surgery has been at the heart of the practice since it was founded in 1967. We are proud to have cared for generations of pets from across the town and the wider Stroud Valleys area.

Stroud sits in a distinctive landscape, surrounded by hills, valleys and countryside. We understand the area and the people who live here, which has always informed the way we give advice.

Clients travel to our Stroud surgery from across the valleys and from many of the surrounding villages.

Stonehouse

Our Stonehouse surgery on Gloucester Road serves the town of Stonehouse and the villages and communities that surround it, including Eastington, Standish, Kings Stanley and beyond.

Stonehouse sits just a few minutes from the M5, which makes us easy to reach for clients coming from a wider area. Our nursing team and vets at Stonehouse offer a wide range of services, same team, same approach, same standards of care.

The Wider Gloucestershire Area

Between our two surgeries, we cover a broad stretch of Gloucestershire. If you live in the Stroud district or the surrounding area and are looking for an independent vet practice with deep roots in the community, we would be delighted to welcome you.

Gloucestershire is a county that takes its animals seriously. From working dogs on farms to cherished household pets in market towns and villages, we have cared for them all. We know this part of the world and we understand the people who live here, which is part of what makes being an independent, community-based practice so worthwhile.
